Hello Again!

It's been 7 months since we last blogged. Mum was waiting til she could get Jakob and I smiling together! But while we waited, we ended up with little to smile about, aside from the fact that we were still a whole family!

Our house burnt down. Since then we've been house sitting, Dad's had to change jobs, and Mum's gone 'logistics mad'...

I'm done with that nappy thing; lipstick's yukky in my fingernails; toothpaste can paint walls; rainbows come out after the rain if there's sun; tomorrow is after a big sleep; a box of custard powder poured into a cup of milk will make concrete custard; saying goodbye to people means they're either 'gone to veer house' or 'gone holiday'; and the 'moon awakes up night time' and 'goes to nuther country when sun wakes up'.

I'm about 4 letters away from getting abc done. I'm pretty much know the songs of Baa Baa Black Sheep, Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, Insy Spider and The Wheels on the Bus Go Round and Round... Favourite foods are noodles, yoghurt, almonds, milo, meat, tinned baby corn, egg, special treat marshmellows and (spoonfuls of) honey.

I'm fulltime into 'my babies', putting them to bed, making 'a cuppa tea' and 'go supamark (supermarket). Don't you go reading me a story, I'll read you one...'k'? I must wear a backpack pretty much 80% of the time and if you say goodbye to me, I'll blow you a kiss that you're supposed to catch and put on your cheek, while I'll yell out 'I love you'! Life's great!

Keen for more? If so, there's:
1) My Photo Album
2) Jakob's Blog
3) Jakob's Photos

Enjoy! :)

Baby? Baby?

"Baby? Baby?" There's one in my tummy "Ess? Ess (Yes)?" Just checking the heart beat. I'm in Dad's (home) office and I'm sure that's a stethoscope (earplugs). That's what happened with my Mum anyway. I remember.

Hey, I'm getting the hang of songs now and singing them. Here's what I can sing so far: "Baa Baa wool ess peas ess peas (yes please) three” and “Row, row, rowboat, merry, merry, merry, merry, deem (dream)!” and “Tinkle, tinkle, tar, high, sky, tinkle, tinkle TAR!”

By the way, I've got 'Ank - U' (thank you) sussed now too and I can
do the actions and sign 'I love you'. All's cool!

Too busy to stop!

Here's how it is these days... I run my own creche, cleaning business, food bank, restaurant, aquatics and athletics centre. All MY babies have blankets (from the real McCoy, to towels, face-cloths to dishcloths), buggy rides, feeds and baths. When they're all asleep, I'm then cleaning the cupboards, the walls, the floor and table tops. I am done with thinking every bottle's a drink - Dad's shaving cream just made me gag and cry, and the dishwashing liquid just made me throw up! Soap's no longer 'cake' & my shampoo's no longer 'juice'!

The food bank desperately tries to feed Jakob, my OTHER babies and the chooks, and if I had my way, there'd be 'crackaas' (crackers) in every cupboard, bag, pocket, bucket and glovebox, which in reality Mum's learnt could be crackers, biscuits, muesli bars, minibix and chips. You'd think we lived on them! Ha! Not...

As for the aquatics centre? I live for a positive reaction to the 'chair peas (please)'. One lives in one bathroom now, which can be more than what goes on in the kitchen! I'm into water big time, so long as I have a truck load of containers and a 'gangkit' (blanket/cloth) - tho I'm so done with the tiny corner of a chux I get - it hardly transports any water! The athletics centre? Sprinting, jumping, power walking and throwing are hot on my agenda. Mum reckons I'll make a wicked softballer, tho' struggles with the fact I practice with courgettes or potato at dinner time. And the restaurant? Cooking! I love it! Mum, once ticked...now just amused, knows that the missing bowl, whisk, wooden spoon and measuring cups are unlikely to be in the dishwasher...but in MY restaurant? Yes. Hmm...then there's Dad's wallet...though probably best not to talk about that!

So there you are! Too busy to stop and if I wasn't taking my teddy to bed for a sleep, I'd probably not stop for some shut eye either. Too much to do! For a catch-up on Jakob, see his blog.
Bye!

Baby Jakob!

I have a brother!

Name: Jakob Donovan Gibson.

Born on the 28th January 2008.

4.78kgs (10.6 lbs), at 1.55pm.

He's 5 days old in this picture.

Apparently I 'froze' when I saw him, then burst into excited peels of laughter! According to Mum, I'm smitten... He's sooo cool! He moves! Not like my babies... Jakob hardly cries, but when he does, I seem to hear him before Mum does. She calls me her 'baby monitor'!

The funniest thing about Jakob though (Dad reckons), is that he farts alot! Dad reckons he's like a balloon ready to take off! Mum, (who'd usually be embarrassed by this) doesn't care a bit! She doesn't need to burp him - it's just his way of getting rid of wind. Apparently some babies are just like that...

I'm not precious about the time Mum and Dad take out for Jakob and having learnt how to be 'gentle', I get heaps of holds! When he gets up in the morning, I've learnt to sit on the comfy chair near his basinet, with a pillow across my knees - and I get to hold him, kiss him, pat him, stroke him, wingle his fingers and name all his body parts (well, almost all!). All up, he's sooo cool! For more about him, check out HIS BLOG! Click here...
